Project No-Flight Update

August 2001

Here is a view of Project No Flight with it’s new wheels and tires checking for ride height and to see if it has that “Hot Rod” stance.

The rear profile looks pretty good, but the front looks too short so ... the current plan is to move the front wheels forward 3 inches and reprofile the wheel opening.

All of the old roll cage has been removed and the main sections of a new cage installed. Here you can see the new bracing to the rear suspension mounts and the rear portion of the cage.

The front cage legs have had the bottom mount installed, but still needs to be boxed. Here you can also see where the cowl brace has been "straightened" and raised. The forward legs of the cage will need to pass under this brace to allow the body to be removed.

So far the only body work done has been to cleanup the firewall region to get ready to install a new recessed firewall. You can see that the side panels have been roughed in, and the cowl panels shortened and flattened.

The next step is to remove all the front suspension and stretch the frame for the new longer wheelbase.
