Bend-pac SP-7X Professional Scissors Lift
Capacity: 7,000 Lbs.
This is Greg & his 1965 project, lifted to the maximum height which will fit in our small garage.
Here are some views of the underside access you have with this lift.
Here it is with Greg's Project No-Flight 1985 Corvette lifted about 36" off the ground. This is the maximum his coupe can go up with the garage door opened. With the garage door closed the car can be lifted about another 6" higher.
The torsion tube connecting the two sides is hollow 4" diameter steel with about 1/2" wall thickness. This is the only piece connecting the two sides together. The lift is remarkably sturdy with a car on it at the maximum height we can use. Pushing with one's entire weight sideways results in no discernable sway or movement of the lift. The frame on Juliet's '70 convertible is like a wet noodle compared with the lift! Greg's 65 with a full roll cage doesn't have any flex in it.
The center portion of the lift is rubber padded. We place 4x4 or the supplied rubber pads on it for lifting on the frame. The entire underside is free for dropping transmissions, exhaust etc.
These are the locks with the air release. This photo was taken with the latch NOT-engaged.
This view is down the center of the car.
The garage is a bit cozy at the moment as it is the 'staging' area for the kitchen remodel and is currently filled with Thomasville Cabinetry, in boxes. :-)
