Project No-Flight Update
March 2008

Since I seemed to be draining the fuel tank to remove the fuel pump a lot, and had no other way to remove the fuel filters for service, I added a fuel shutoff valve to the upstream fuel filter.  The handle will be safetyed in the "on" position when I get ready to drive the car.  My erratic fuel pump prime problem went away when I added more fuel to the tank.  It really needs the fuel a good bit higher than the pump to take a prime.  The pump is pretty noisy, so I may consider swapping to an inline pump at some time in the future.

The fixed vent wing filler panels were installed.  They are bonded in place using VHB tape, the same stuff that modern car body panels are installed with.  I also removed the protective cover from the driver side window so you can get a look at the Lexan installed.

With the help of Fred Terry from our  Mason Dixon NCRS chapter, the windshield is finally in place.  It is one of the few original parts to make it back onto the car.  Of course it isn't original to this particular Corvette.  I'm still trying to decide if I am going to use Lexan for the rear window, or put in a glass one.  I've also started installing the final interior panels, the toe-kicks and the side frame covers.  With all the black carbon inside the car I can't get a good picture of them, it all just comes out as "black".
